Rivankiabe
Rivankiabe is an ANTOKALY Pompona lot born of a human hybridisation between Planifolia and Pompona, grown near the Ankiabe river, which gave the lot its name. The cross gives majestic pods, fleshy and full of seeds. Some pass 30 centimetres, for a weight reaching 25 to 30 g at 35% humidity.
An aromatic beam that joins the cocoa and chocolate notes of Planifolia to an alcoholic, balsamic, floral and fruity register.
Rivankiabe belongs to the spicy and unexpected family of ANTOKALY Pompona, a house of rare vanillas from Madagascar rooted in the SAVA. On this single territory, 3 varieties open the map and 10 lots fill it, each with the signature of its terroir. Rivankiabe takes its own from the Ankiabe river and a hybridisation made by human hand between Planifolia and Pompona.

The terroir
Grown in agroforestry like all our productions, Rivankiabe grows near the Ankiabe river. ANTOKALY gave the lot this name for the watercourse that borders it. The river modulates the humidity of the air and the tropical forest canopy wraps the vine.
It is this environment, carried by the river and sheltered by the forest, that accompanies the singular expression of this hybridisation, born of the cross between Pompona and Planifolia.
The expression
The aromatic beam opens on cocoa and chocolate notes, inherited from the Planifolia.
Then come alcoholic and balsamic notes, followed by floral and fruity tones. A composite profile that reflects its hybrid origin.
The maturation craft
Like all ANTOKALY vanillas, Rivankiabe enters Malagasy rosewood chests after preparation. The wood breathes with it, regulates humidity and lets the essential oils find their melt.
It leaves the chest when aromatic maturity is reached.
In the kitchen
A vanilla for signature desserts, spirits and savoury dishes. Its majestic pods, fleshy and full of seeds, give a full reading from the infusion onward.
